 Meet Mew, My Cat

This is my cat and I named her Mew.
Originally, my mum was the one who wanted the cat and finally brought this little one home from my grandfather's place.
My grandfather owned a dog farm (and has birds and cats too, but mainly dogs), so he knows the personality of the animals and told us that this one was really gentle.
She doesn't scratch anyone at all, and is really the most cuddly thing ever.
Somehow or other, my mum probably showered too much love on her so she doesn't really like my mum.
She likes me though and she always purrs when she is in my room.
I used to say she was a vibrating cat (she kinda feels like she is when she purrs).
Even when she is asleep, she continues purring (or is that snoring?)

Anyway, some people say ''like master, like pet''.
So, one thing that Mew is very similar to me is that she sleeps A LOT.
She probably sleeps more than I do, and I can really go into hibernation and skip all 3 meals.
I see her sleeping more than I see her awake so I don't really feel guilty when I have to wake her up when I am getting comfortable on my bed.

I like it when she sleeps right next to me though, and when I can put my arm around her like a little bolster.

Either that, or she likes to put her head on my head and use it as her pillow.

Basically, she likes to curl up in places that seem to have my smell because she always sleeps on my spot of the bed and take my pillows but she is still the cutest thing ever.

Here is Mew taking a selfie (or really me trying to make her take selfies). She always seem to know when I am taking pictures of her so she tries to block out the camera and make me put down the phone.

And yes, I did name her after the pokemon Mew.

Honestly, I think I'm going to miss my cat the most when I go to US.

So, as I mentioned previously, I went out on Sunday to meet these bunch of people!

They are from the same Italy group that I went with but this is honestly the first time I meet up with tour group people. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I don't really like joining tour groups.

And that's my mum and I with my fading blue hair.

I went out on Tuesday again with Rinny, and we ended up watching Hercules... and marvelling over the guy's body. LOL. Well, it was one of our impromptu movie dates again so the choice of movie was just the spur of the moment. We are awaiting the guardians of the galaxy to come out, and planning to watch it on the 4th after going to this Cat cafe she wanted to go to with 2 of her friends.

Going out out out out out
I don't even keep track of what I am doing these days anymore. Many days I just go right into hibernation and sleep the entire day. Even my parents don't see me much even though I am in the house. At the same time though, I have been going out quite a lot as well.

As mentioned before, I went out with Nicole last Monday and we went to Plaza Singapura to eat Nandos. I took forever to finish my food even though I just ordered a chicken breast with no other sides. It was probably because I have not been eating the previous day and my stomach just couldn't handle it. But it was fine since Nicole eats pretty much at the same speed I was, so we just talked about stuff over lunch. It's really funny because we end up talking about so much stuff, talking about the past, or about our visas, and other stuff. The thing is we have many similar hobbies, so we ended up going to the bookstore buying books even though we both still have many books back at home that have not been read. We even went to Dome to continue talking about secondary school stuff, and then continued walking again. We just walked and talked and at times shopped but it was a really good meet up because there was so much to talk about. We planned another baking session on the 5th but I haven't really thought of what to make just yet.

I was supposed to meet Rinny again on Tuesday, but somehow we ended up cancelling and lazing in bed again. We then made plans to just stream harry potter movies together but we ended up cancelling that too.

I went to meet my grandaunty and granduncles(?) on Wednesday. (Basically, they were my grandmother's siblings). We had lunch at paradise inn in bedok point. Having lived in bedok throughout my childhood, I have to say it has changed so much. Now there is not only one, but two malls there. When I used to stay there, there wasn't even a single mall. It just feels so foreign all of a sudden. After lunch with my grandaunty and granduncles, I texted Auntie B to meet up since we were in the vicinity. She was our ex-neighbor when we were staying in bedok area. We sat down for some cake and coffee and just did some catching up. (I seem to always be talking about eating, huh.)

I went to meet up with Rinny once again on Thursday to make up for Tuesday that we didn't meet. We went to Jurong Point to eat at MOF (my first time there) before we headed down to IMM. I don't go to Jurong Point much so everything seemed so new to me there. We also bought a jacket each there for about $15. We went down to IMM for Daiso, and bought yarn and stuff so that I could teach Rinny how to crochet. Speaking of which, I should take a picture of my last completed long cardigan I made from scratch. So we ended up sitting in Ya Kun with me teaching her how to crochet while she getting a little frustrated. Kekeke. But it was all good because she managed herself somehow even after I had to leave. Auntie Joyce and Uncle Toh (honestly I get so confused how we are related but I think she is my mum's aunt... or was it cousin? LOL) They came over just to meet up before I leave, so we just chat until 11+.

I went out on Friday for some Korean BBQ because foooood. We went on to uniqlo where I managed to get really cheap jeans. I bought 1 pair of green jeans just for $9.90 and 2 more pairs, one black and the other navy, for $12.90 each. I think they were cheap because they were all really small sized. Oh well, all the better for me. My mum paid for all of them anyway since we were together. We went out with Rieko-san after that to develop her wedding pictures before I went to the Expo with my mum for a John Little sale. We managed to get really cheap bedsheets ($9.90 for queen sized bed sheets set) and many other nonsense going for cheap as well. We also went to some IT sale but ended up getting nothing but cables for charging our phones.

I went out again on Saturday to meet Joe at orchard central but I accidentally left my phone behind so we had some problems actually even meeting. I managed to find some wifi and contacted him so we could meet at D&D. Joe ordered this rainbow cake and couscous while I ordered a cheese and portabello burger.

It was really good but I felt so full after that.
(Photo credits to Joe. I took them from his Instagram)

He even took the trouble to get me a farewell gift as well as a souvenir from Australia where he went for 5 days between his break after POP.
It was a bittersweet meeting since it will probably be the last time we meet for a long time.

We were only 13 years old here, in the bus. God, it feels so funny looking at old pictures.

And 14 years old here, celebrating Joe's birthday at his place.

And finally one picture of us at present.

Well, after we separated, I decided to go shopping on my own. I went to uniqlo again and for the first time, I bought myself male shirts. I got some for females but the material used for guys felt so much nicer I swear. It was thicker and softer and the colors were nicer too. All for the same price of $12.90. The funny thing is that a male's sized S equates to about a female's L. I honestly tried the L and XL for females because I was looking for something slightly baggier, but it didn't look nice so I settled for an M instead. But when I got the male's one, the S was the same size of the female's L, yet because of the cutting, it fit better even when it was baggy.

The irony is that females are the ones getting mocked more for being large in size. Next time just tell anyone who dares to insult you that you're wearing a S in male size tbvh.

Male's S vs. Female's M

I also bought a long vest thingy from H&M but no pics :<. I couldn't resist buying this huge-ass eraser as well for $2.90 that says 'Ctrl+Z'. Kekeke.

It seems like I did a lot in the same day but I went home and went out again after a failed attempt to take a nap. We went to my grandfather's place to pick him up before going to MBS to watch the fireworks of the national day parade rehearsals.

They were all taken from my phone so the quality isn't the best; but I take what I get :3

That wasn't the real reason we were there though. We were really there for the Fruit Festival there because Mike KorKor gave us free tickets so we had free Durian and fruits. Honestly, I don't eat much durian so I was practically there just to waste away a ticket. I did eat some though.

We even went up to the Skypark for free and walked down discussing how someone actually managed to jump down even though there were glass and barriers everywhere. I wouldn't want to jump if I wanted to kill myself though. I mean it's so scary. Maybe carbon monoxide or something would be the best. Just a thought. Do you guys think of things like this too or am I the only one? LOL. I mean I don't really want to kill myself or anything but really, I wouldn't want to jump down anything even if I wanted to. My thoughts scares me sometimes too.

Oh gosh, I'm not even done with Sunday (which, yes, I went out again). Funny, I never expected that I would go out so often like this. But I guess since I'm already leaving next week, everything just comes piling up on me.

 Upon Request
Alright, so upon request I shall blog again. I was being a lazy ass and really doing absolutely nothing. No, I kid. I have been going out quite a few times (surprisingly).

Last week Tuesday, I went out with Rinny (again) to watch Transformers. We were... late as usual. We were supposed to meet at 1pm in Aljunied but we ended up meet at 3.30pm instead. It has because such a normal thing for us to be late that we kind of just expect it. We went down to Bugis + to watch the show before we went walking around bugis street because we were too full from tidbits for dinner.

We wanted to get anklets but for some reason we couldn't find any. Instead, we found this tiger bag that Rinny wanted and started to play with the funky sunglasses in the shop. This is actually the first pictures we took together despite knowing each other for like what...? 6 years? Obviously not picture people.

So, the thing about dyeing my hair blue? I actually went ahead with it. I had to bleach my hair twice to get the tone down. it wasn't completely white though, just a dirty blonde color.

I dyed the bottom a brighter blue and the top a blueblack so it makes a bit of a gradient.

That same night I dyed my hair, I went to Zouk (Upon my mum's request). Honestly, I wasn't all that keen on going. I went to Zouk once before last year in December and didn't find the joy of going ( I thought it was a waste of time tbh ). Plus, I can't drink. I mean I puke almost immediately after I drink. But my mum felt that "it would be a good experience" and that I am "at the age to go and have some fun" so she asked some of her younger friends to bring my brother and I out, and guess what?

  1. I puked
  2. I still find it a waste of time tbh
Pictures are not with me though. I guess this time was a little bit better than the 1st time, but still, not my kind of thing. I slept through the next day and woke up at night for dinner (which is quite a normal thing for me seeing how I often sleep in the early morning anyway). But apparently parents thought I was too "drunk" to come out of my room. They thought I slept for 2 days apparently. Thing is I can't really get drunk. I puke everything out before I can ever get drunk. I don't know why but I just don't enjoy clubbing (maybe it has to do with the fact I can't drink). I do like to dance, but just not like that.

Anyways, on Saturday, I went to Rieko-san and Kenji-san's wedding. It was quite fun because it was a small-scale event and very personalized. We actually get to know each other and talk around unlike those Chinese dinner weddings where all we do it eat. Don't get me wrong though, the food was awesome. I went to do my hair in the morning and curled it, sprayed it, and pinned it up basically. I really liked it, but it makes my hair so much shorter because of the curls (and I'm too lazy to curl it myself).

Me and my bro

Me trying to capture the blue in my hair
So, I kinda made this new friend there, Hiro-san. He helped us take many polaroids and we got talking for some reason. He was being really nice and all and we ended up exchanging emails. I was supposed to email him, but I really don't know what to say? I am always so bad at these things. Though, I did give him my email so he can email me if he wants.

For some reason, the polariods came out making me look so much fairer than I really am. I am tanner than my brother and my mum, but in the pictures I just look like I am the fairest of them all (Muahahaha, mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?)
Da Bride

And in commemoration, I took as many pictures as I could to capture the curls and the blue of my hair. I really love the color. No regrets at all. Though I don't know how long the color would last since brighter colors fade faster.

My mum got a ticket to the Sound Of Music musical in MBS and I took it because I like the show the most out of us. I got the DVD of the show for one of my birthdays when I was younger, and I honestly can't remember how many times I have watched it. The year after that I got the disc, I'm sure I already watched it at least 4 times. By now, I just lost count. So, I went to watch the Musical alone, and omg, it was really amazing. Even though the storyline isn't that sad, neither are the songs, I really wanted to cry watching the musical because the voices are so strong and good. It was really good, and I even bought a audio CD after that. The musical doesn't follow the show exactly though. I guess it is due to the time constraint. Even so, the musical lasted 2 and a half hours including the 20 minute intermission.

The next morning, I woke up super early at 5.30am because I promised friends to meet for another friend's POP. So I left the house at 6am and took the MRT down to meet them at the floating platform.

Thinking about it though, their family is so different from mine. I mean to be very honest, if this was my brother's POP I would have probably not gone? We keep to ourselves so much that we don't even talk about things like what he does in camp and stuff like that. My brother didn't do the 24km thing because he had a MC. But Joe's family were all there for him and it just feels so different. Anyway, it is good to meet up with them before I leave to US.
I have started packing most of my stuff, and I don't know how I am going to squeeze everything in because I have not packed my dry box for my camera yet.
Anyways, so much for my busy week. I went out with Rinny again today just to hang around in Jem. I finally got my Visa done, and now just waiting for my payment to process so that I can arrange for an appointment. It should be either on Thursday or on Friday.
I have yet to meet up with my secondary friends though (though I don't really know if I want to? I probably should...)
Rinny is also going to leave on the 7th of August, and hopefully we can still meet during thanksgiving there (if all goes well). It's funny how we end up together anyways even though we didn't really plan for it to be that way.
