Class Schedules and New York - Manhattan (and a little bit of Brooklyn) Day 4 Part 1
It's already Saturday and school is starting again on Monday. It feels like a long time since I went to school but then again, I felt like I didn't do much in that time even though I did go out nearly everyday of the time that I had no school.

I'll probably head down to school earlier on Monday because I'm still not too sure where exactly Bell Hall is. I'm really excited to be taking Japanese after so long of saying that I would though. I was contemplating hard between Korean and Japanese, and after the previous post, you would have thought I would choose Korean. But I have wanted to learn Japanese for so much longer and even though I know how to read Korean (and not Japanese), I decided to stick with what I have originally, years ago, wanted to learn. I'll probably try and pick Korean up on my own sometime.

Here's an enlarged version of my School Map. This is the north campus where I would be studying most (if not all) the time. I live near to Rensch Road (on the left side of the map) so it's walkable distance from the campus even though it would take us about a 10 min stroll.

Bell Hall is number 29 on the map, so it would be quite a far walk for me. Thank god it's not winter yet.
I think Jacobs Hall is number 14 while Alfiero is number 15 so thankfully they are really close by so I can change classes easily.
Capen and Clemens Halls, however, are not that close to each other. Capan is number 25 while Clemens is 9. So I would have 10 minutes (ample time, but not much spare time) to get between the halls. Oh well, I'll just have to see how that goes along once my school starts.

Back to New York

So, on our fourth day, we decided to each somewhat of a more American breakfast. Unfortunately, because it was a weekday, it was pretty much rush hour for all the working people and the place was crowded. We had to wait quite long for seats and it got a little confusing when ordering because they had displays of the breakfast sets that we pointed to, but when they called out our orders, we didn't exactly know which was ours. Some of the sets were pretty similar like pancakes with bacon, or pancakes with eggs, and they have names like e.g. breakfast set - like gee, thanks, that helps a lot.

The display counter where we order

I had mini chocolate chip pancakes with strawberries. They tasted fine but honestly, how can you ever go wrong with chocolate chip and pancakes?

This was Andrew's because he constantly craves for bacon.

And we had 2 orders of waffles. They tasted really good because the outer layer was crispy (I like it that way).

After breakfast, we walked to the Subway again and took it back to the same station we went the day before for the Union Square.

Thankfully, the instructions we received that day was accurate because there was indeed a farmer's market!

They're all wearing red. I teasingly said that they were celebrating a late National's day for Singapore.

We bought one of the giant tomatoes and it was really sweet and juicy.

My mum appreciates being able to talk to someone who knows how to cook because apparently I'm useless for that.

A tomato in a tomato. Tomato-ception!

Carrots in all sorts of colors

We finally found a place to rest and sit around while planning for our next destination.

We decided to go our separate ways and Mike, Andrew and I headed off on our own while my parents and Liyen went back to the central park to relax.

We took a taxi down to the Brooklyn Bridge since it wasn't too far.

We came back the Court House quite near to the taxi landing.

We got off the cab in front of this building which I have absolutely no idea what it is for.

And tada! We have stepped onto the bridge. The weather was really hot and sunny but the bridge wasn't that crowded (I mean in comparison to other tourist attractions)

If we looked back from the bridge, you could see a skyline of the city.

Have I mentioned how much I love blue skies? I adjusted my own camera settings for the skies to come out like this. The auto settings just does no justice to the colors.

The 2 boys found a bunch of strings tied up on the grills of the bridge and one of them even had a currency note type on to it.

Caught red-handed in the act of curiosity. Nah, I'm kidding, we tied it right back after that.

Mandatory sun shots again

We finally walked to the other side of the bridge into Brooklyn!

These were signs printed on the floor and I couldn't resist taking a picture of this one.

We walked past this park? in search for the subway back downtown Manhattan where we had planned to go to the shopping street.
We did find the Subway, but in front of it was a hotdog stand so we decided to settle our lunch there and then.

So we sat under the trees and just munched on hotdog and chucked down coke.

Andrew also purchased this pretzel but it was harder and tougher than we had expected and we ended up feeding it all to the pigeons around.

We took the subway back into Manhattan and walked down the shopping street where the brands were. I'm not one for shopping so most of the time I just sat around and looked after the guy's bags (sounds like the role got reversed but who cares).

Here's me in superdry taking pictures of evidence while the 2 are shopping around.

This was probably the only thing I was interested in purchasing - CHOCOLATE
They are really cheap here where like 5 bags of Lindt chocolate was $50? That would have bought us only 2 in Singapore. We wanted to buy it but it would have melted at the rate we were going so we ended up not getting any.

We also went to Hollister, a branch off A&F that we do not see in Singapore. It was here that I realized I had a problem. I'm so glad I brought quite a number of jeans over from home because I can't fit into any of them here.
Let's just make things clear. I don't have an eating disorder or anything of that sort. I eat, sometimes more than my other friends even, but I simply don't gain weight. I eat the entire pizza on my own as a meal and with sides but I don't gain weight. I'm not saying this in a bragging manner. I am trying to put on weight and I very much like to gain some but I just don't. In part, some reasons might be that: I don't like ice-cream, I don't like gassy drinks and I don't like deep-fried stuff much either. 1 major reason would definitely be: High metabolism rate.
So, anyways, here, I found out that size 0s = 24 inch for jeans. And in rare stores like Hollisters that holds a size 00 = 23 inches. Hurrah. I can probably buy a 00 and it will still be loose. Let me go buy some kiddie clothes now. In other stores like SuperDry, their smallest size is a 25 inch so there is definitely no hope for me buying bottoms there.
I bought a hoodie from my school store, and I took the smallest size and it is still huge for me.
I don't even that that is my fault because I am not that short for an Asian girl, but the sleeves are still too long for me. I like my hoodies loose though, so that's completely fine with me.

We continued roaming around randomly after all the shopping (only Mike bought stuff actually) and finally came to a rest at a Starbucks near Rockerfeller.

It took us more walking before we arrived at the empire state building. We bought our tickets before going across the road for some wendy's. This is my 2nd time eating wendy's, and ironically, the first time was also in New Zealand and never in Singapore.

I liked the baked potato and broccoli though.
I'll post the Empire State Building views another day because I literally spammed pictures there, and if I upload them together, it would hit the picture limit again. So, till then, tatas!
